Foreign students in Russian creative universities 2022

Before the special operation in Ukraine, Russian universities recorded a constant increase in the number of foreign students. In five years, the number of foreign students has grown by 64,000 people, a spokesman for the Ministry of Education and Science told Vedomosti. If in the 2017/18 academic year 260,000 foreign students studied in Russia, then in 2021/022 – 324,000.

The demand for Russian education abroad is growing every year,” said the interlocutor in the department. At parliamentary hearings on May 27, 2022, Minister of Education and Science Valery Falkov said that more than 345,000 foreign students are currently studying in Russia.
